Bhagwati durg which is surrounded by the Arebian Sea from three sides. The fort is having a shape of Horse Shoe and a length approximately 1300 m and width 1000 m. It’s having strong fortifications from south-east to west side. Approximately at the center of the fortifications, there is a main entrance gate. There is a Lighthouse on one of the bastion. This bastion is called as “Siddha Bastion”. This fort was constructed during the rule of Bahamanee. After that it was captured by Adilshah and from Adilshah Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj (founder of Maratha Empire in India) took the charge of the fort in the year 1670 Ch. Sambhaji raje (sun of Ch. Shivaji Maharaj) stayed at this fort in the year 1680. In subsequent time this fort was controlled by Karawir Chatrapati. Then the fort was hand over to Aangre family. During the war between the Aangre and Peshva, Peshva won this fort with the help of britishers in the year 1753. But unfortunately in the year 1818, the fort was captured by the Britishers. Caving also called as Spelunking is a somewhat quirky adventure activity that involves discovering cave systems – the more virgin and the wilder, the better...Caving also has its extreme side. Located on the western coast of India, Alibag is an idyllic town also known as the Konkan region.The place is known for its local fish delicacies, palatial sea forts and sun-kissed beaches.  Some of the major attractions of Alibag include Khanderi Fort, Kolaba Fort, Undheri Fort, Alibag Beach, Nagaon Beach, Versoli Beach, etc. Rameshwar Mandir is a temple located in Revdanda, Maharashtra, India. It is a very ancient temple of Lord Shiva. The Chaul region is known for its temples. There are 365 temples in Chaul, equal to the number of days in a year. The date of construction is not known, but the temple has been renovated several times. In the front there is a large pond known as pokharan in Marathi. The Mandir has three tanks (called kund in Marathi): parjanya kund, agni kund, and wayu kund, representing three elements of nature—Rain , fire, and air. The structure comprises of prayer hall (sabhamandap), sanctum sanctorum and 7.62 meter high summit shaped dome. In front of the prayer hall, there are three tanks (kund) namely Parjanya Kund, Agni kund and Vayoo kund. Birla Mandir was built by the Birla Group as part of its Vikram Ispat Factory Complex. 20 Kms from Alibaug on the Alibaug - Roha route near Salav village is the beautiful Birla Mandir. Built atop a hillock Birla mandir has Ganesha as the main diety. The idol of Ganesha is placed on a marble nave which is intricately carved. The idols of Riddhi and Siddhi are placed on either sides of the Ganesha idol. There are small temples of Radha-Krishna Shiv-Parvati and Suryadeva also in the Birla mandir. Every evening, after the sun sets, lights are turned on, and the aarti is performed. As it gets dark, the sight of the translucent marble reflecting the light is a wonderful sight. Nagaon Beach: Located around 7 km away from Alibag, Nagaon beach is a beautiful beach that attract visitors by its breathtaking views and soothing ambience. read more read less
