Every trekker has a dream to tour and trek naturally blessed part of the country that is Ladakh. To accomplish this dream let us introduce one of the valleys in this region which is popularly known as “Apricot Valley”. Also, synonymously called as Sham Valley, is a perfect destination for winter treks. One of the well-known and the easiest trek in this region gives a view that makes one fall in love with beautiful apricot flowers that blossom during this period. This trek is a chance that allows discovering this place very closely. You would get to know the lifestyle here as we pass through remote villages Hemis Shukpachen, Ridzong, Temisgang and Ang based in the mountain terrains. Trek definitely is welcoming as it is suitable for both families and individuals. It is an opportunity to capture delightful sights of barley fields, floral valleys and streams. Lucky if you are, then there are chances to come across the wildlife creatures in this region. As harmless are they, it is indeed pleasure to see them in their own habitat. This is simple walk trek at altitude of 3500 meters that is en-route from Likir to Hemis Shukpachen which is at about 3700 meters. Further moving higher at 3850 meters the Phobe La to Mebtak La (3750 meters) and then finally to Tsermangchen La (3750 meters).

This is perfect activity with small adventures of hiking at small elevations and nature trails. As peaceful this place is, it is equally a heavenly feel while one enjoys the jest of Tibetan culture, cuisines and celebrations. The trek relishes small colonies of Indo-Tibetan people who offer homestay permitting to share their lifestyle. Simple life is another experience that is added advantage to this trek leaving everyone with divine emotion.

Brief  Itinerary:

Day 1 :- Arrive Delhi & Fly Delhi to Leh (3500m)

Day 2 :- Acclimatization , visit to monasteries & Leh sight-seen

Day 3 :- Drive Leh to Likir and trek to Yangthang(3720m)

Day 4 :- Trek Yangthang to uallay

Day 5 :- Uallay stay  {Chances of sight of Snow Leopard. }

Day 6 :- Ually to Hemisshukpachan (3600m).

Day 7 :- himisshukpachan to Tingmosgang (3200m).

Day 8 :- Timisgang To Khaltsay

Day 9 :- Return from Leh.

Detailed Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrive Delhi & Fly Delhi to Leh (3500m)

  • In this winter season , Only way to reach Leh is by Flight. Participant is expected to reach Leh on this day as early as possible So he/she will get more time to acclimatise to weather.

Day 02: Day trip to visit Shey and Thikse monasteries.

  • Visit leh place, shanti stupa ,sangkar gonpa ,market .

Day 03: Drive Leh to Likir and trek to Yangthang(3720m)

  • Here we will start with the Trek , at first we will have a beautiful drive through Scenic mountains to reach Likir.
  • From here our Trek will start, on this day end we will stop at Yangthang.

Day 04: Trek Yangthang to Uallay

  • This is a special route given in our trek which goes through different & remote terrain of leh valleys.

Day 05: Uallay stay

  • This is a most beautiful & scenic place to stay in your adventure Trip. The Highlight is there is a chance to have a sight of Snow Leopard.

Day 06: Ually to Hemisshukpachan (3600m)

  • The village, named after the grove of cedars, is one of Ladakh’s prettiest. There are several sparkling streams surrounded by shady willows and large barley fields that provide a touch of green to the otherwise desolate, Rocky Mountains

Day 07: himisshukpachan to Tingmosgang (3200m)

  • This day trek will be mostly downhill which will lead us t a village Tingmosgang , a historical evidence to this place as agreement between Tibet & ladakh was signed here.

Day 08: Timisgang To Khaltsay

  • This will be a last day of Trek, which will go though the bottoms of huge mountains aside & we will reach to main route to Leh city.

Day 09: Fly Leh-Delhi

  • It is recommended to Stay for more  1 or 2 days in Leh to visit other tourists spots. But its completely in-personal choice.

Things to Carry:

  • Back pack (60 ltr -70ltr)- with comfortable shoulder straps, frame, and back pack cover (line the bag with polythene).
  • Waterproof Trekking shoes –Mandatory high ankle with good grips, (Recommended Quechua).
  • 2 synthetic /waterproof Track Pants (Do not bring shorts, tight jeans, Capris.)
  • T-shirts - 3 full sleeve.
  • 1 Fleece jacket will be a good idea; a woollen sweater would be an alternative.
  • 1 Wind proof jacket.
  • 1 Heavy jacket.
  • Thermal Inners.
  • 2 pairs cotton socks and 2 pairs woollen socks.(Compulsory)
  • 2 pair water proof hand gloves.
  • Sun protection cream.
  • Woollen cap/ Balaclava.
  • Sun Cap.
  • Sun glasses (Compulsory)– Dark with side cover, it should be U/V protected. People who wear spectacles-
    • Use contact lenses.
    • Photo chromatic glasses.
  • Head Torch with extra batteries.
  • 2 Water bottle- one litre each.
  • Lip Balm/ cold cream.
  • Toilet kit/ toilet Paper / wipes.
  • Quick dry Towel- It should be light / thin.
  • Personal Medical Kit.
  • Walking Stick – Mandatory (At least one).
  • If you have any medical issue please carry your own medicine as we carry only First aid.
